Berkeley South Asian History Archive

This is the companion website for the Berkeley South Asian Radical History Walking Tour. It contains some of our research notes on South Asian American histories in Berkeley, the San Francisco Bay Area, and California more broadly.

We link to original sources whenever possible. Some of the sources we use in our research include the South Asian American Digital Archive, the California Digital Newspaper Collection, Chronicling America, the Internet Archive, Newspapers.com, MyHeritage, Ethnic Newswatch, Ancestry, and FamilySearch.

This is, and will continue to be,
a work in progress, and represents only a subset of our research notes.
